A bright start to the year

We hope your new year has got off to a bright start!

January has been a busy start for us with a new product range coming out soon, two new additions to the Clamp Lamp series and involvement in several projects to hear about soon.

This February Plant & Moss are proud to present two new additions to the collection.
The Clamp Lamp has been with Plant & Moss since the beginning, and remains our champion product. In-fact, the Original Clamp Lamp gave us our first customer, Liberty of London, in 2009. The Original Clamp Lamp has played host to various interiors from restaurants to shop displays and graced the desks of those-in-the-know.These two new designs, The Clamp Table Lamp and The Clamp Side Lamp, add a more homely feel to the industrial series, whilst keeping a quirk and charm about them.
The Clamp Side Lamp, has a playful somewhat incongruous element to it. The visual lightness created by the arm is offset somewhat, by the oversized shade, providing a friendly and multifunctional lighting solution. The Clamp Table Lamp, keeps the industrial aesthetic of the Original Clamp Lamp but juxtaposes it with the more recognisable, traditional form of a simple table lamp. This quirky composition makes for an unusual, loveable lamp. Priced from just £165.00
INTERIORS UK 2012 This January the students of Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD), have been showcasing their work at Interiors UK.Inspired by a brief set by Global Color Research, the final year students have researched and developed a fascinating collection of patterns, fabrics, wall coverings and textured materials. Their work ranging from knitted wools to beaten copper.Forward thinking
Working to the themes 'Tender' and 'Ember' they have been trend forecasting for Autumn/ Winter 2012/ 2013.'The project, based on a long-term partnership with UBM Live, Global Color Research, Mix Publications and international digital wall covering manufacturer Tektura, is in its fifth year and has enabled over 500 students to engage with industry, resulting in placements, internships and employment'.This year Plant & Moss were invited to support their work and sponsor their stand with some lighting to contextualise the hard work of the students. Working with the stand curator we felt that the Plant & Moss Earthen Lamp, by Tatsuya Akita, with its textured terracotta dip finish fitted well with the students work on Ember. To read more about the project and their work follow the link below, more of their work will be available to see at the BIAD end of year degree show.
Honest & Earthly
With a focus on lighting another NEW product, to the Plant & Moss range, is Earthen Lamp by Tatsuya Akita. Earthen Lamp is honest to its materials and traditional manufacture technique. Cast in white earthenware, with a dipped terracotta finish, each shade is hand made and kiln dried. The lamp is dipped in to terracotta and upturned , allowing the terracotta to run and create its own pattern meaning a unique design each time.
